2. The critters (Ow! Ow! OW! I know you don't like being shoved in a box but we don't want Kitty Flambe'!)

4. Survival bag & supplies (To survive is good)
5. Cell phone & charger (For obvious reasons)
6. Camera (To document the heroism of firefighters)
7. Meds (For reasons too numerous to mention)
8. Purse (Need to have something to carry all the aforementioned shit in)
9. Laptop & power supply (Information is power)
10. Important papers file (To prove we are who we are)
I guess these things are kind of unglamorous and uninteresting but we're talking survival here. I'd rather be alive than die beautiful. Heh.

1. The Misanthtropic: Name something (about humanity) you absolutely hate.
I absolutely hate women who apparently cannot do anything for themselves without validation from anyone... from hammering a nail into a wall to deciding what eat in a restaurant to keeping anti-virus and other security software to keep their computers working. They feign such helplessness that you begin to wonder how they can draw a fucking breath on their own.
2. The Meretricious: Expose something or someone that’s phony, fraudulent or bogus.
A person who consistently takes every gift anyone gives them back, even if they've been given something THEY ASKED FOR.
3. The Malcontent: Name something you’re unhappy with.
I am unhappy with the state of my backyard.
4. The Meritorious: Give someone credit for something and name it if you can.
The peeps in my corner who keep cheering me on, shoving me forward and ignoring my growls and snapping.
5. The Mirror: See something good about yourself and name it.
My freckles. I like my freckles.

I wish for a larger house that fits all our stuff comfortably that we can afford, with no yard work and a maid.

1. I am partially disabled by chronic pain and depression stemming from a permanent spinal cord injury.
2. Today is mine and Manthing's 11th anniversary.
3. After 11 years it's nice to still hold hands in the movies or while driving somewhere in the car.
4. Instead of children, I have 2 dogs, 7 cats and 2 ferrets.
5. At least 3 of these fuzzy creatures don't believe they aren't human.
6. Like children, they create inifinite amounts of entertainment as well as frustrations.
7. I am not looking forward to the summer though a road trip may happen which would improve it.
8. I am looking forward to finishing the work for my next show.
9. It has turned out to be more challenging than I anticipated.
10. The title of the new show is " A Box is Worth 10,000 Words".
11. I have been enjoying finding images and researching the pieces I am planning.
12. This will be the first show of works created in my new studio and consists almost entirely of box assemblages.

Now that the moving is almost over, I can breathe a little more deeply. Oh, we still have a BUTTLOAD of stuff at old house to sort through, toss or move but we're at the end of it. I'd suggest some gas and a match just because I am so tired of moving but its not my house. Story of my life. Anyway I like the new house so much I don't mind being there all the time. In fact, I like it. I like it so much, I decided to make my inaugural Thursday Thirteen post about what I like about my new digs.
2. I like it that we have twice as many birds here than we did at the old place.
3. I like it that the dogs can spend all day out in the backyard and I don't have to worry they'll hop the fence and scare the bejeezus out of someone.
4. I like commuting across the backyard to work in my studio.
5. I like it that once it's free of boxes and such, the cats can go out on the room-sized screened in porch to sun themselves and watch the squirrels and birds.
6. I like having a large sunny kitchen that holds more than one person.
7. I like the feeling that I live in a house I can keep up with now.
8. I like that the washer and dryer are side by side instead of in different rooms.
9. I like the wooden swing that sits in the backyard.
10. I like the big magnolia tree in our front yard.
11. I like our friendly mail carrier.
12. I like the way the pine trees in our backyard talk when the wind blows.
13. I like liking where I live.
